Gone are the days of stale teabags and honey from a cute little plastic bear. With just 3 quality ingredients, you can create a cup of tea that is sure to bring relief to an unwanted cold, bloated tummy and even to give you a little boost for the day.
GINGER ROOT RAW HONEY LEMON JUICE
Ingredients:
1/2 Ginger Root (handful of sliced ginger)
3-4 TBSP Raw Honey
Juice of Half a Lemon
How To:
Start with some ginger root. I like my ginger tea to have a proper KICK. I thinly slice a generous handful of ginger (no need to peel it, just give it a good wash first) and muddle the slices to begin the process of extracting all the beneficial oils from the root. It can be a sneeze inducing aroma (a nice little sinus cleanse) so keep some tissues nearby, just in case! Toss the ginger slices in a medium sized pot. Bring to a boil, cover and let simmer on low for 30 minutes.
Strain your ginger tea.
I like to add the honey when the tea is still hot and then give it a good stir until it dissolves. You can add as little or as much honey as you would like. For a medium sized pot, I add 3-4 tablespoons.
Lastly, add your freshly squeezed lemon juice. I put in about half of a lemon’s worth of juice. Make it as zesty as you want!
This is best served warm, but it can easily be poured over ice as well.

Let’s do a quick breakdown of the benefits of each ingredient:
GINGER
Known for its spicy ability to KICK the common cold, aid in digestion and ease motion sickness.
RAW HONEY
Honey is QUEEN. It is packed with antioxidants and can help soothe a sore throat. With its antibacterial properties, it is a powerhouse ingredient for a nice hot cuppa. Be sure to use RAW HONEY as that is where the nutrients are!
LEMON JUICE
Lemon juice contains Vitamin C and gives your immune system the boost it needs when fighting off a sickness.
Not feeling under the weather?
This tea is also a great addition to your morning routine. Make a big batch and drink it throughout the week to give you a natural energy boost and a happy gut!
Here’s to happy sipping!
Sincerely,
Brooklynn
