Imagine floating mid-air above a field. Blue skies. Fluffy clouds. Quiet. Add a harness. Look down. Your feet are dangling. You were HIGH on life about 10 seconds ago when your skydiving instructor rolled both of you out of a little plane into thin air. You just finished screaming your lungs out of pure “what in the actual world did I just do?” energy.
Then it hits. The spinning, the tummy churns…that “HIGH” energy? Yeah, that left. Now, fill that quiet moment with gagging. Add in a dry heaving episode. Turn to your side as to not hit your instructor attached to your back. There they are. The chunks; spread out behind you in mid-air on a quiet morning filled with blue skies, fluffy clouds and orange chunks. The field? Now fertilized. THAT, is how Brooklynn took on skydiving.
Did I mention there were photos? Lucky me.

In honor of Allie’s birthday last year (2024) her mom, sister and their dog, Thor, swept me away to go stay in a gorgeous mansion sitting atop a peaceful mountain. The next day her sister and I flew up into that gorgeous sky. She floated down gracefully and I left streaks of orange to be remembered in still photo form forever.
I will still say yes to “out of my comfort zone” adventures and look back with no regrets. I will continue to do that for Allie. I will continue to live. Try new things. LITTLE by little.
This year? 2025? I am taking on a karaoke bar. Hopefully I won’t spread any chunks there…
Sincerely,
Brooklynn
