I am a scrounger at heart. As much as I love a minimal home, I love a good stroll through an estate sale for quality pieces for my home (and sometimes even to resell)!
It Runs in the Family
My BEST resource for solid estate sale finds is my dad. He is a Real Estate Agent and Estate Sale Liquidator. I have worked for him on and off over the years prepping homes for sales and getting ready for the crowds to come rummage through the place. This career takes a good eye and an honest heart. It also requires the willingness to get DIRTY. Rat poop, cat pee, fridge full of oozing, expired food; DIRTY. The “clientele” is also…unique. Never a dull moment.

Come Scrounging With Me!
We can tour some of my dad’s jobs and also explore the local ones by my house. Estate sales are a breeding ground for “resellers”. They make their living off of buying items at a lower cost to resell to end users. I’ll OCCASIONALLY look to resell, but I love to go for inspiration for my own home. It unlocks my creativity. I get to figure out how to style my home with each new piece.
I’ll give you all the tips I’ve learned (maybe some whacky stories too) along the way so you, too, can be an upstanding estate sale shopper!
